A Helping Hand for Those in Need

December 28, 2008 · 1 Comment

Hello readers.

I am back with my primary mission of providing information that people can use.

If you are behind on your mortgage payments and foreclosure is looming, please know that bankruptcy does NOT have to be an option. Furthermore, please know that there is help out there specifically for you and others like you in this financial crisis we are in.

This recession has taken it’s toll on many businesses and individuals alike. Automotive giants like Ford and GM are bowing down to the pressure that both a weak ecomony and high gas prices took on their industry. Layoffs and firings in the thousands loom ahead if the automakers can’t get things going again.

Take down the following numbers and pass it on to your friends and family members. Let’s help keep each other afloat financially so we can come out on the other side of the crisis better and more prepared to enjoy our lives to the fullest.

Please call the following number for more information and to see if you qualify for mortgage help.

1-888-995-HOPE

Do it today. I don’t get any commissions or kickbacks, just the satisfaction of knowing that another homeowner won’t lose their home that they worked so hard to have in the first place.

That is my payback. :-)

Yours in (continued) homeownership,

Joseph R. Mays

Dallas Cowboys Continue their Losing Ways at NFL Playoff Time

December 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The Dallas Cowboys are showing their losing ways again when it really counts. They are losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 44-3 as of 6:43PM Eastern time. there is no hope of recovery from this mauling. They were beat up on by the New Orleans Saints in a similiar fashion at a time when the Dallas Cowboys really needed to step it up.  December is NOT a good month for the Cowboys since Tony Romo arrived. It isn’t just the quarterback to blame, it is all members of the team sharing the blame. Terrell Owens cried about no play time, but on several occassions dropped passes. Marion Barber did an excellent job of rushing throughout the year. We need a better backup quarterback to help us out in a clutch situation.

I really appreciated the victory over the New York Giants several weeks ago, but they fell apart at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens.

The winner goes to the playoffs and the Cowboys knew this. Now they get a free ride home and get to see the Super Bowl from the sidelines…. AGAIN! They will be okay when they learn to carry their momentum throughout the season.  Obviously you will have good competition in the NFL, but it can be done with team play and the want and will to win.

I am still a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, but it is disheartening to see them destroy their own destiny. We have to wait until next year..AGAIN. Good Luck to the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants fans. I’ll follow whichever one makes it to the Super Bowl. Keep it in the NFC East. I predict the Indianapolis Colts to be the AFC conference winner for the Super Bowl. You heard it here first. :-)

Yours in NFL disasters (LOL),

iPod! Tax? What’s else is in store for New Yorkers?

December 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

An article today told about how the governor of the State of New York is proposing an iTunes! tax to make up for the budget shortfall. It is bad enough that gas had gone up to $4.00+ a gallon earlier this year and food prices as well. I think the first place they should tighten the belt is luxuries and amenities that the governor gets. If we as people have to take a hit, then so should they. I can work with a governor or even a president willing to make some personal sacrifices right along with the people. He should ask former Virginia governor Mark Warner for some belt tightening and state budget tips.

We get taxed enough. I understand taxes help bring in revenue for essential services for the community, but they (taxes) are NOT spread around evenly amongst the people and corporations that use the services such as trash removal, water and sewer and transportation projects. And the little guys are the ones shouldering most of the load.

iPods! are purely for pleasure and learning. Let them remain that way. I am sure that all and users would agree.  Tax something that is more meaningful and the majority of people willing to help with it.

Yours in tax reform and looking out for the people,

Joseph R. Mays
