It was a pleasant surprise after refreshing my page to find out that my blog won the “Blog of the Day Award” from Blogger.com.

A crowning achievement with more to come in the future. I am still new for all intents and purposes, but I will hone and refine my site to best meet the needs of my readers. I enjoy learning how to do more with this blog and with helping people find what they need.

Check out American Solutions – Petitions

American Solutions has a petition campaign, Freedom Not Fear, to defeat the Employee “Free Choice” Act. I signed their petition and I think you should sign it too.

It would strip workers of the right to vote by private ballot when deciding to join a union, and it would undermine the right to freely negotiate contracts.

God Has Kept Me Here For A Reason

God has kept me here for a reason.
I survived because he has a plan for me.

All my bad supervisors,
the bad management choices,
the death of loved ones,
the back stabbing from my co-workers and church members,
the negative thoughts,
the lack of executive support;
I made it because I am blessed!

I release and let go of all past hurts,
misunderstanding and grudges
because I am blessed!
I recognize them as the distractions they are,
for God is all there is.
All else is  a lie!

Now give yourself a hug, wipe your tears and walk in victory!!!

Now since you are a true child of God,
you know that with every blessing,
a blessing is required!
So bless another, by passing this on.

God is in Control – A New Book by Joseph R. Mays

After years of setbacks and negative distractions, I have finally done something I wanted to do for a long time; publish a book of poetry. My first venture into the publishing arena is called “God is in Control“. In it you will find poems that will uplift you and caress your soul and let you know that those troubles you’re going through will not last forever. The enemy doesn’t want you to succeed, but with God you WILL succeed.

America Saves Week 2009 is Here!

America Saves Week is upon us. In today’s economy, it may be hard for a lot of us to find ways to save money, but we can. There may not be a lot to spend, but you can do things like turn off the lights, turn down the thermostat or stop making repetitive trips in the car (conserve gas). These are just a few of the ways you CAN save money, but by no means all.
